American River Wine Adventures

The onset of autumn around here means excitement in the vineyards! It’s harvest time and local grape growers, winemakers and wine lovers celebrate the grape gathering with harvest festivals and crush events.

During your stay at American River Resort, you can drive a few miles in almost any direction to experience the unique variety of wines produced in and around our beautiful river valley. A good place to start planning your wine adventure is to visit the wineries on the American River Wine & Ag Trail. They’re nearest to us and feature friendly tasting rooms and award-winning wines.  Wine enthusiasts will want to book an extra day or two in one of our luxury cabins or RV sites and explore the El Dorado Wine Region’s 70-plus wineries!

Driving through the area’s backroads between wineries, you’ll see fantastic foothill and mountain views, and the autumn colors are spectacular. Visiting the wineries, you’ll discover there’s something special about the wines here. They’re produced by heroic winemakers who are undaunted by the endless variety of elevations and micro-terroirs of our terrain.
